Timothy Lee Hall, of Sturgis, KY, formerly of Henderson, KY, and a proud “East Ender,” passed away on November 24, 2025.
He is a 1970 graduate of City High “The Flash” and then went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health from the University of Kentucky. He dedicated his career to serving communities as a public health inspector in both eastern Kentucky and Henderson County. During his years in eastern Kentucky, his job often took him deep into the mountains, areas so remote that he flew in by helicopter to inspect small mountain stores, a story he proudly and frequently shared.
After retiring from Alcan Aluminum Casting department and water purification, he then worked as a water operator, certified class 4 in Union County, where his love of science and chemistry truly shined. A genuine chemistry whiz, he took great pride in ensuring that local families had clean, safe drinking water, work he viewed as both a responsibility and an honor. He carried that love of science home, always eager to help his daughter with her chemistry homework.
He attended flight school in Oklahoma, where he collected unforgettable stories, most famously flying a little too close to the corn stalks during practice flights, a tale he loved retelling with a grin. Tim held deep pride in his Cherokee heritage, honoring the courage of his great-grandmother who survived the Trail of Tears. He lived with that same quiet strength: resilient, grounded, and unwavering
in his principles.
Tim was also a proud Mason and a founding member of Community Baptist Church.
He was the fun dad, the house where everyone wanted to hang out. His humor, warmth, curiosity, and welcoming spirit made his home a gathering place for his daughter and her friends. While he was gentle and easygoing, he also had a strong backbone: he never took any disrespect and stood his ground when it mattered. He loved boating and spent many hours on the water.
He was a lifelong National Geographic enthusiast, never missing an issue and reading each one cover to cover. He literally knew everything about world history.
Above all, Tim was a devoted family man. He supported his daughter through every season of life—every race, every ball game, every sporting event—with unwavering pride. One of the proudest moments of his life was serving as “Ironman Support Crew” at her race last summer, an honor he treasured deeply.
Over the last four and a half years, he worked tirelessly beside her on the building that would become “The Sturgis Clinic.”
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Tommie and Dr. A.C. Kennedy; his grandparents Popeye and Aladean Wilson; his brother Jeff Hall; mother and father-in-law Bernice and John Benham; sister-in-law Beckie Benham, and his beloved Great Pyrenees, Wendell.
He is survived by his dear wife of 44 years, Susan, whom he married on the Ides of March; his daughter Meredith (Whitney); his loyal companion Georgie the Corgi; brother-in-law Johnny (Alice) Benham; sister-in-law Raini Hall; and his extended family of loved ones including but not limited to Anna Grace and Dan Lovell, and Sugar the Moody Mare.
Honorary pallbearers are James Franks, Kristin Chester, Shawn Martin, Chase Robertson, Tyler Young, JB Slaughter, Joe Logan, and Audie Kennedy.
At his request, there will be no services.
Forms of sympathy may be made in his honor to the animal shelter of your choice or Infinite Hope- P.O. Box 1154, Henderson KY 42419.
