Thomas Eugene Williams passed away suddenly on Monday, November 24th, at his home.
Tom was happiest in the kitchen, where he could show his love through the meals he prepared. Whether it was a family gathering or a quiet evening at home, he took real joy in cooking for the people he cared about and watching them enjoy what he’d made. When he wasn’t cooking, you’d likely find him sitting in front of the TV, watching his favorite sports teams and losing himself in the game.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Phyliss Lauer, and his great-grandmother, Blanche Moore.
Tom is survived by his daughter, Amber (Keenan) Lipford of Pinellas Park, Florida; his sisters, Tina McCoy and Traci Rhodes of Evansville, Indiana; his niece, Angela Smiley of Evansville, Indiana; his nephews, Matthew Cosby and Mike Cosby of Evansville, Indiana; great-nieces and great-nephews; and many recently discovered brothers and sisters who became part of his life in unexpected ways.
Tom had a tender heart for the homeless and those struggling to get by. In his memory, donations can be made to the United Caring Shelter, where his compassion can continue helping those who need it most.
There will be no formal services. A memorial will be held at a later date for family and friends to come together, share a meal, and remember Tom in the way he would have wanted—surrounded by the people he loved.
