It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Teresa Kay Arendt (Hart), who passed away on August 1, 2026.
Born on February 7, 1966 in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, Teresa lived a life defined by love, kindness and devotion to her family.
For more than 30 years, Teresa dedicated her life to serving others as a geriatric nurse. Nursing was more than a profession, it was her calling. She was a compassionate advocate for each and every patient entrusted to her care, treating them with dignity, respect and genuine kindness.
Family was at the center of Teresa’s life. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, finding joy in creating lasting memories and celebrating life’s milestones.
Teresa is lovingly remembered by her children, Taryn Arendt and Alexander Arendt; her former husband, Jim Arendt; her mother, Retta Marcum (Mark); her sisters, Tina Griffin (Bill) and Misty Marcum; her niece, Kaylin Lutter (Sterling) and many cherished cousins, extended family members and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jim Hart; her paternal grandparents, Joe Hart and Judy Laws; her maternal grandparents, Ebbie and Margaret Slusher; her uncles, Ref Slusher and Reedie Slusher and her aunt, Nicki Sunday.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1925 Volkman Road, Evansville, Indiana.
Simple Cremation Evansville is entrusted with care.

Theresa had a gift for bringing beauty into the world. She cherished flowers—every color, every bloom, every delicate unfolding of life. And in many ways, she was like the flowers she adored: gentle yet vibrant, graceful yet full of strength, always offering something beautiful simply by being here.
She will be deeply missed!
