Steve Pyott, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2026. He was born in Evansville, Indiana, on February 20, 1953, and remained a lifelong resident of the community he called home, aside from several years spent living and working in Nebraska.
Steve graduated from Bosse High School in Evansville, Indiana, in 1971. In 1977, his brother Mike convinced him to move to Nebraska, where he lived and worked until 1989, when he returned to Evansville.
He went on to become a dedicated carpenter, working for many years until his retirement and taking great pride in his craftsmanship and the work of his hands. Outside of his profession, he enjoyed woodworking and welding, hobbies that reflected his creativity and skill.
More than anything, Steve cherished time spent with his family. He loved visiting, sharing stories, and creating memories with those closest to him. In recent years, he found joy in simple pleasures, including collecting different colognes and showing off his latest Bluetooth speakers while playing music for his family to enjoy together.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Mary Pyott; his brothers, Brian Pyott and David Pyott; and his sister, Brenda Glaser.
Steve is survived by his siblings, Michael Pyott, Randy Pyott, Sherry Dodson, Marsha Pyott, and Marilyn Cardarelli, along with many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
In accordance with his wishes, Steve will be cremated and no formal services will be held.
Steve loved and cared for barn cats that were around his home and the family asks that memorial contributions may be made to the Vanderburgh County Humane Society.
