Spencer Tate, 85, of Henderson, Ky, passed away March 16, 2026 at Lucy King Hospice Center. Spencer was born in Noblesville, In, to Robert Tate and Lorena Tate Layton in May of 1940. He graduated from NHS in the Class of 1958.
Spencer loved to travel and explore new places. He loved Florida, walking the beaches, grilling, landscaping, and getting together with family and friends.
He was proud to be an “obnoxious”Purdue Boilermaker fan.
Spencer was preceded in death by his parents, wife Nancy Tate, and son Joseph Tate. He is survived by his wife of 20 years Jean Tate, son Curtis (Jill) Tate, daughter Kimberly (Bill) Nellis, brother Kenton Tate and Jean’s family: sons Derek Huff, Tyler (Sandra) Huff, daughters Casey (Mark Morris) Huff, Dani Huff Smith . He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
There was no service per Spencer’s request. The family will gather for a private family dinner at a later date. He was loved and will be missed.
