Sherri Lynn Stout, 71, of Evansville, IN, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2026, in her home surrounded by her loving children, grandchildren, pets, and her partner in life.
Born on August 15, 1954, in Evansville, IN, to Nancy Aldridge, Sherri moved to Franklin, MA, at age 11 and graduated from Franklin High School in 1972. She eventually returned to Evansville to raise her family, where she worked in the retail and restaurant industries.
Sherri was well-known for her deep love of Boston sports, including the Bruins, Celtics, Patriots, and her true obsession, the Red Sox. She was also a passionate fan of the Duke Blue Devils men’s basketball team. Beyond her quick wit, dry sense of humor, and famous sarcasm, Sherri was a talented cook and a natural nurturer. She had a gentle touch and a unique ability to care for any animal or child in need. Above all, she lived for her grandchildren and was incredibly proud to be their grandmother.
Sherri is survived by her spouse, Spencer Stout; her children, Douglas (Lacresha), Kevin (Michelle & Alex), and KatieLynn (Christopher); and her grandchildren, Chloe, Brookelynn, Bailey, Mackenzie, Kevin Jr., and Cailey. She is also survived by her sister, Kay Aldridge of MA, and her beloved pets, Crush the turtle and her dog, Kane. She was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Aldridge.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Mesker Park Cabin 17.
