Sharon Marie Keating, 69, passed away peacefully at 11pm on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Parkview Care Center.
Sharon was born in St. Augustine, FL on February 19,1956 to the late James Robert Keating and Kathleen Marie Winchell. She graduated from St. Augustine High School in 1974, and then proudly served in the US Army until 1978. Sharon was a loving, dedicated, and hardworking mother. Her children always knew she was in their corner and would be there for them through thick and thin. She worked hard to put herself through college while raising her two children and graduated in 1986 with her BS in Computer programming from Jones Business College.
Sharon enjoyed computers and was a computer programmer analyst as a civil servant on NAS JAX SPAWAR until a forced early retirement. She also ran her own web design business and then went to work for the FL prison system as their IT and desktop support person until retiring in 2021. Sharon’s son Robert moved back with her and took care of her, until her needs placed her in a nursing home April of 2025.
Sharon is survived by her children, Sabrina Marie Williams and Robert Mitchell Baxter; step-mother, Betty Keating; her siblings, James (Lucinda) Keating, Connie Ham, Robert (Yvette) Keating, and Janice “Michelle” Harrison. grandchildren, Celestial Marie Castro, Lillian Hope Baxter, Zander Lee Jean Baxter, Stacey Wilson Baxter and Penelope Anna Baxter; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Parkview Care Center and Heart to Heart Hospice for their compassionate care, as well as a mention to Mom’s resident roommate, Sue, for being a wonderful friend who looked out for her and who opted to stay in the room and not leave her buddy during Mom’s last moments. Thank you!

I’m praying for my family at this time. Aunt Sharon was always a very strong woman in my life. She always went out of her way to let me spend time with Sabrina and Robert. She taught me to stand up for myself and always be heard. She taught me the core values of honor, courage, and commitment. I was lucky enough to have her in my daughter and my life. We love her and will remember her everyday.

It’s hard to say goodbye to my big sister, for me she was the smartest one of the three kids.
I do know Sharon’s life was difficult at times and she stood strong throughout, putting her family first in her life, Sharon was in their lives as should be.
I can remember times that she went through things that I don’t think many others would have been willing and able to.
I can only say Respect for her and love is all I can offer.
For this I can salute you Sharon Keating well done now it’s time for you to relax and know peace keep in mind just how much YOU have added to the lives of others is what really matters you have completed your work here on earth now it’s your time to be in peace.
However I know you will be keeping an eye on us maybe that small whisper one might hear to help us down here. Gods grace and speed Sharon, and oh by the way I may need a favor when it’s my turn and I know I can count on you to deliver.
Respectfully
You’re brother
