Shamus Ryan Lawlor, age 37, of Evansville, Indiana-formerly of Fredericksburg, Virginia-passed away on April 9, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and deep compassion.
Shamus was born in Willoughby, Ohio, but it was Fredericksburg, Virginia, that truly felt like home to him. He built a life full of meaningful friendships and memories there, and it remained close to his heart no matter where life took him.
Shamus lived his life with an open heart and an unmatched passion for the things-and people-he loved. A proud Harley-Davidson employee and lifelong motorcycle enthusiast, he found true joy on the open road, where freedom and connection came together in every ride. His love for bikes was more than a hobby-it was a part of who he was.
Before his time with Harley-Davidson, Shamus worked at a special needs facility, where his compassion and kindness shone brightest. He had an incredible gift for making others feel valued and seen, and his time with the residents there left a lasting impact. He had the biggest heart-giving, loyal, and full of warmth-and those lucky enough to know him will remember his gentle strength, his quick wit, and the way he could light up a room just by being in it.
More than anything, Shamus was a devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend. Family meant everything to him. Whether it was showing up without being asked, making people laugh when they needed it most, or simply being present, he poured love into every relationship. He had a special bond with his twin brother, Sean, and was fiercely protective of his sister, Shannon. He loved coming from a big family and was grateful to have lived close to aunts, uncles, and cousins during his time in Virginia.
Shamus had a deep love for music-it was always playing in the background no matter what he was doing. And when it came to sports, he was a diehard Cleveland fan, proudly supporting his teams through every triumph and heartbreak.
Shamus is survived by his loving mother, Catherine McAndrews; his father, James Lawlor; his twin brother, Sean (MaryAnn) Lawlor; his sister, Shannon (Colin) Barbish; and his beloved niece and three nephews.
Details for a celebration of life will be shared with friends and family at a later time.
Shamus will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love he gave so freely, the joy he brought to those around him, and the way he made family-not just a word, but a way of life.
