Rodney Boyd Brown, 69 of Chandler Indiana passed away on January 17, 2024. He passed peacefully at home holding his daughter’s hand. He was surrounded by family and friends in the days before.
Rodney was a retired coal miner at Amax and love to work on tractors and vehicles. He loved being outdoors and feeding the chickens and pigs. Rodney loved to play with his grandsons Dustin and Blake, and they were the joy of his life. Rodney will be missed dearly by all who knew him. He had a knack for making people laugh.
Rodney was preceded in death by his father Elmer H. Brown, Sr.; his mother Rosa Brown (Rhoades) of Millersburg Indiana; sisters Elma Lee, Patricia, Connie and Tammy.
He is survived by his daughter Cara Moats and her fiancé (Jason Kohlman), grandsons Dustin Moats and Blake Moats.
Son Adam Brown (Brittany) and their children Jacob, Caleb and Emalee Brown; step-son Nicholas Ballow, step-daughter Charity Brown, and their children; brother Elmer Brown Jr.; sisters Nina Lou, Debbie, and Pam; nephews Dustin Brown, Brad Brown and Rodney Koenig and many others along with many nieces.
A celebration of life will be held for Rodney in the spring at his home with family and friends.

So sorry to hear this, I got into a lot of trouble with him when we were growing up. Riding in his pickup with rope for doors when in grade school was a great time.

I just learned that Rodney had passed. I met him when we moved to Chandler summer after 6th grade. “Fuzzy Brown” was one of the nicest guys I had ever met. Biggest smile. I’ve lost track of many after HS, especially after moving to Indy. It sounds like he was greatly loved. Makes my heart smile.
