Robin Allison Scott Jourdan — nana, mother, and lover — was reunited with the love of her life Michael (Mike) James Jourdan on Valentine’s Day, 2025, after battling cancer.
On December 13, 1955, in Vincennes, Indiana, Robin was born to Dorothy Himmelbauer and Milford Lee Scott, following her older brothers Lee and Eric, preceding her younger brothers Brian and Bill. She will be missed dearly by her children Allison, Jennifer, and Michael, as well as her grandchildren Haley Rodgers, Sophia Jourdan-Molina, Dorothy Jourdan, Erin Brown, Ruby Brown, and Austin Jourdan.
Robin became a mother to Allison at an early age. Years later Robin met and married her better half, Mike, who became Allison’s father figure and father to Jennifer and Michael. Some of Robin’s most cherished memories were with Mike, exploring Utah’s Bryce Canyon National Park where they spent their honeymoon; in the hills of Providence, Kentucky, where they lived off the land temporarily; and on the road in Mike’s trucking rig during the end of his career. She tragically lost Mike to cancer in 2014. Anyone who knew them as a couple saw their love shined bright — all is right knowing they are together again.
Robin was always looking to the outdoors for peace, whether that was simply on her patio, tending to her garden, lounging at her pool, at the lake with family, or camping in the woods. To support her family, Robin worked hard throughout her life in accounting and various retail settings. One of her career achievements was working closely with denim designers and being named on a denim patent. Outside of her role in the workforce, Robin took her role as “Nana” seriously, and helped raise multiple grandchildren until her passing.
Robin was a free spirit and a social butterfly, with a big personality. She was loving, funny, true to herself, and always down for a sit-and-shoot-the-shit. We will remember her every time we see an American Robin flutter by, planting flowers and trees in her honor.
A Celebration of life will be held in memory of her for close friends and family at a later date.
