Paul Douglas Campbell, Sr.

Paul Douglas Campbell Sr., 76, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2026, in Madisonville, Kentucky.

Born on February 10, 1950, in Washington Court House, Ohio, but retired in Youngstown, Ohio. Paul lived a life defined by love for his family, loyalty to those around him, and a sense of humor that could brighten even the toughest days. He proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserve before beginning a career as a warehouse supervisor, where his dependable work ethic and commitment to others earned the respect of those who knew him.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Doris Campbell.

He is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Carol Ann Campbell; his sons, Paul D. Campbell and wife Stephanie, Richard A. Campbell and husband Brandon, and Christopher A. Campbell-Acosta and husband German; his cherished grandchildren, Kiara Campbell, Kaven Campbell, Paul C. Campbell, and Chloe Campbell; his sisters, Patty Butler (Robert) and Debbie Campbell; along with many extended family members, friends, and loved ones who will forever treasure his memory.

Paul was a proud veteran of the United States Army Reserve and a dedicated warehouse supervisor throughout his career. He was also a member of the American Men’s Association in Youngstown, Ohio.

Outside of work, Paul enjoyed golfing, bowling, trying his luck at the casino, and relaxing with a cigarette while sharing stories and laughter with family and friends. He was known for his sharp wit, sarcastic sense of humor, unwavering loyalty, dependable nature, generous heart, and just the right amount of stubbornness. If you knew Paul, you knew he could make you laugh when you least expected it and that you could always count on him when it mattered most.

More than anything, Paul treasured his family. One of his favorite memories was taking his family on their very first vacation together to Niagara Falls, a trip that became a cherished story for generations to come. The moments he spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren brought him his greatest happiness, and those memories will continue to live on in their hearts.

Those who knew Paul will never forget the familiar way he ended every conversation: “Love you, miss you, bye.” Simple words that perfectly reflected the love he carried for the people in his life. Today, those words mean even more to the family and friends who will miss hearing them.

In accordance with Paul’s wishes, cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Simple Cremation in Evansville, Indiana. A Celebration of Life will be announced and held later, where family and friends will gather to honor and celebrate a life well lived.

Paul’s legacy is one of laughter, loyalty, resilience, and unconditional love. While he will be deeply missed, the stories he told, the laughter he inspired, and the love he gave so freely will continue to live on through everyone fortunate enough to have known him.
