Nina Marie Hasenour, 66, of Boonville, IN born to Bernard and Sandra (Strange) Byers passed away at her home on June 8th, 2026.
She loved the things that made life fun and interesting—watching horror movies, fast cars, listening to rock and roll, traveling, and especially her time living in Japan, a place she truly loved. At home, her faithful companion was her cat, Lucy, who was never far from her side.
Preceding her in death are her father Bernard Byers and brother Bernie Byers. Surviving her are her children; Jessica Fox (Devin) of Eddyville, KY and Kelsey Erwin (Jesse Adams) of Newburgh, IN, mother: Sandra Byers; sisters: Debra Byers and Diane Maday (Kevin Rostron); grandchildren: Quinten Redman, Makenzi Lee (Grant), Aidan & Mariah Miller, Corbynn Morris, and Aryonna, Devin, Dorein, Layla, & Janie Fox; her three great-grandchildren, and many other family members and friends who loved her.
Arrangements for a celebration of life will be announced at a later date

Nina and I have been friends since 9th grade. We get together at least twice a year for a girls night out with our group from high school. I love her and will miss her terribly. My love and prayers to all of her family and friends.

Nina, my heart is broken.You were the cutest little first grader there ever was. Our 8th grade year,our last year, at Tennyson Elementary, we sat across from each other the whole year. I had the pleasure of being Nina’s caregiver a few months ago and she would make me laugh an we would watch the news together an love on her cat Lucy she definitely loved Lucy I’m going to miss Nina she was a very sweet person never a dull moment with her I loved it when we would go to hacienda an laugh at everything an talk about everything. To Nina’s family I am so sorry for your loss if anyone wants to reach out to me to vent or to cry that’s fine I don’t mind at all Nina had a very special place in my heart

My deepest sympathy to her family. I met Nina when we moved back to Boonville my sophomore year. I also new Diane and Bernie. No matter where Nina saw you she was always so nice just like she was in high school. I ran into at the T-Mobile store a couple of years ago and she was just as sweet and kind as she always was. Prayers for her entire family. She made the world a better and brighter place❤️
