
Nikki Alicia Strickland, aged 42, passed away on July 4, 2025, in Evansville, Indiana. Born on October 16, 1982, Nikki was known for her kindness and gentleness, touching the lives of those around her with her creative spirit and joyous energy.
Nikki found her calling in caring for others, working alongside her wife, Kristina, at a local nursing home where she dedicated herself to the well-being of the elderly. Her passion for her work was evident in the love and respect she received from both colleagues and residents.
A creative at heart, Nikki had a profound love for drawing, writing, and building with Legos. Her artistic talents were a big part of her life, providing her and her loved ones with moments of beauty and joy. Nikki also had a zest for dancing, a skill at which she excelled, often lighting up the room with her moves.
She cherished her family deeply and is survived by her wife, Kristina, and stepchildren, Destinee, Brooklynn, and Justin, all of Evansville. Nikki also leaves behind her mother, Sharon Strickland; brothers William, Chris, Maurice, and Daniel (Angela) Strickland; sister RaShaun Lowe-Strickland; and several loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard L. Strickland.
A celebration of Nikkis life will be held at a later date, as per the family’s announcement. Nikki’s love, warmth, and creativity will be dearly missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
