Mary Charlene Harris. 80, of Newburgh, IN went to be with her loved ones and her lord on Monday, May 26, 2025, at Woodlands Care Center in Newburgh, Indiana.
Charlene, as she liked to be called, was born in Greenville, KY on June 13, 1944, to the late Charles Russell and Mary Russell.
Charlene was an amazing mother, grandma or “buddy” as her granddaughter referred to her as, sister, sister-in-law and aunt to so many that loved her and her beautiful heart and soul. She loved her family and God so much. She enjoyed calligraphy, reading and watching her shows that she loved on TV.
Although her family here will miss her so much, we know that she is now with those that she has missed so much that have gone before her.
She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Russell, mother, Mary Russell, her sister, Linda Harris and her beloved granddaughter, Ashley Harris and if you knew the two of them you know they are lovingly bickering with each other in heaven as they always did, all with love.
She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Harris, brother, Bill Russell (Debbie), sister, Phyllis Coleman (Mike), many cousins and nieces and nephews as well as her Aunt Ruth Morrow that she loved as her second mom.
We would like to thank the nurses and staff at Woodlands Care Center and Heart to Heart Hospice for the wonderful care they provided to her in her time there with them and the compassion they showed towards her.
Per her wishes, there will not be services at this time.
