Mark Alan Waters, age 58, of Boonville, IN, passed away on November 6th, 2025, in Newburgh, IN. He was born on November 11, 1966, in Evansville, IN, to the late John Waters and Beth Waters (Kemp) and grew up in Yankeetown, IN.
Mark fought a long battle the last several years with his health but remained strong to the end.
Mark is survived by his wife of 31 years Sena Waters, son Trenton (Trent) Waters, and daughter, Evonna (Vonni) Waters and stepson Johnathan Miller (Carrie Harmon Miller). His grandson, Grayson Waters. His brother and sisters and their extended families, brother Johnny Waters (many children and grandchildren), sister Emily Ness-Taylor (Justin Taylor) and his nieces, Kayla Nunley (Jake Nunley) and their children Lexxtin, Luna, and Archer, and niece Kelsha Cook and her child Keeli-Beth, and sister Amy Burman (Joe Burman) and dog nephews Bo and Mayhem.
He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and his brothers, James Waters, Joey Waters, and Matthew Waters.
Mark spent his youth riding 4-wheelers, hunting, and spending time with his brothers and sisters fishing and running throughout Yankeetown where he grew up. He also spent his time perfecting the loudest whistle he possibly could.
Mark worked for the Indiana State Highway Department for many years and was extremely proud of his work in maintaining our community. He then moved to work at the Boonville-Warrick County Public Library for many years until he was no longer able to work. He was extremely proud of his work doing general maintenance duties and showcasing his ability and creativity to tinker and be a jack of all trades to help the library and community. He also loved to make everyone laugh by being a prankster and cracking jokes.
Mark’s family meant the world to him, and he spent his time maintaining the joint family business and going to his kid’s ball games and band concerts.
Our family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of the staff at the Cypress Grove Rehabilitation Center and Dayvita Dialysis in Newburgh, IN, where Mark lived during his last years that gave him the better care of life he deserved, put up with his daily antics, and offered peace and serenity at the end of his life.
The family will be hosting a celebration of life at a later date at Bates Hill Cemetery in Yankeetown, IN where he can be with his Mother, Father, and late brothers.
Please contact Sena Waters or Emily Waters for further details on the celebration of life.”

I am so sorry for your loss. Mark was a fun guy. There were many times he kept the bookmobile running. One time the bookmobile broke down on the highway in front of Motel Manor. I called him and he was right there helping. The day the hospital called about my dad he drove to the bookmobile to take over and let me drive his truck back to the library so thay I could go to the hospital. He was a great guy!
