Louis A. Burch, fondly known as Louie, was born on July 7, 1950, in the town of Richland City, Indiana, and passed away peacefully on September 29, 2026, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital after a courageous battle with health issues. His life was a testament to resilience, love, and devotion, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Louie was the beloved son of Paul and Alice Burch, who predeceased him, along with his cherished companion Peggy Horn, his son Corey Burch, six brothers—Harlan, Harold, Walter, William, James, Michael—and his sister Mary (Molly) McAlister.
Despite the many losses he endured, Louie’s heart remained open and full of love for his surviving family. He is survived by his children, who were his pride and joy: Stanley Burch, Tina Crowe and her husband Dave, LouAnna Burch, and Sheri Horn. His legacy continues through his grandchildren—Dylan, Drew, Tyler, Corey Jr., and Tabytha Horn—and six great-grandchildren. Louie is also survived by his siblings, Lilly Brockman and her husband Randy, Anita Arringdale, Martha Skinner and her husband Dale, Daniel Burch and his wife Mary, and Paula Hess and her husband Marty, all of whom shared in his life’s journey.
Louie was a man of deep faith, finding strength and solace in his love for God and his church family. His warmth and kindness were evident to all who met him, and his presence was a comfort to those in need. Louie had a passion for life’s simple pleasures, spending many joyful hours nurturing his plants and garden. He also found great happiness in music, often strumming his guitar and filling his home with melodies that echoed his vibrant spirit. Friends and family describe Louie as a man who valued togetherness, cherishing the moments spent with loved ones. His laughter, wisdom, and unwavering support will be greatly missed but forever remembered.
In honor of Louie’s life and his generous spirit, the family welcomes donations in his memory to a charity of choice. Through these contributions, Louie’s legacy of love and kindness will continue to touch the lives of others. Louis A. Burch will be dearly missed, but his spirit lives on in the hearts of all who were privileged to know him. His life was a beautiful testament to the power of love, family, and faith.
