
FREELANDVILLE IN – Linda Claire Woods passed away on June 15th, 2025. Linda was born October 28, 1941 in Freelandville, Indiana to Miles and Helen (Ritterskamp) Dunkerly. She was the youngest of five children. Her husband Tom Woods, brothers Wayne, Don, Gordon and sister, Lois (Richard) Bosecker, and sisters-in-law Vera (Wayne) and Sharon (Gordon) preceded her in death.
She graduated from Freelandville High School in 1959 and worked at Kixmiller’s store in Freelandville. She married the love of her life, Thomas Richard Woods, January 24, 1960 and celebrated 65 years of marriage being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Linda is survived by her children Todd Woods (Susan) of Bedford, IN, Noma Maier (Jan) of Bloomington, IN, brother-in-law Richard (Lois) Bosecker and sister-in-law Waneta (Don) Dunkerly and two grandchildren.
Linda worked at the Farm Bureau CoOP in Sandborn for many years before taking a job at the Bureau of Mines in Vincennes. She later was employed at Naval Support Activity Crane. After retiring from Crane she worked at the bank in Bicknell.
Linda will be remembered by family and her many friends for her love of golf, playing cards and Mahjong. Linda was an excellent golfer winning many trophies and with six hole-in-ones to her credit.
Linda was a member of Bethel Church in Freelandville. She enjoyed partipating with friends in Bona Fidelis Club and organizing and playing in golf outings at the Bicknell Country Club.
She loved the memories made with family and friends during yearly trips to Florida in winter visiting with friends, playing golf and cards and enjoying the warmer weather.
Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. with Memorial Service from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Bethel Church 13673 E. SR 58, Edwardsport IN 47535 on Saturday June 28th, 2025 with food and refreshments to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Bethel Church and the Freelandville Community Home.

Tom and family I am so very sorry to read about Linda. I just saw it in the bulletin period I remember all of the fun times we had when you guys lived down the road from us. I know her and mom made Pizza from scratch and they were great friends again. I am so sorry to read about her.
