Kathleen Marion Wolfe, 85, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026, at North River Health Campus, surrounded by the love and care of her family.
Kathleen was a devoted Christian whose faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life. She loved the Lord deeply and lived each day guided by His grace, compassion, and promises. Her unwavering faith, gentle spirit, and loving heart touched the lives of all who knew her. Through both her words and actions, Kathleen shared the love of Christ and served as a faithful testimony to the goodness of her Lord and Savior.
Family was at the center of Kathleen’s life. In 2023, following a stroke that left her unable to walk or speak, Kathleen relocated from Michigan to Evansville to be closer to her beloved sister and family. Although the stroke brought significant challenges, it never diminished the love she shared with others or the joy she found in their presence. During the last three years of her life, Kathleen enjoyed spending time with her sister, family members, friends, and the caring staff and residents at North River Health Campus. Their companionship, kindness, and support brought comfort and happiness to her days.
Kathleen will be remembered for her kindness, strength, devotion, and the comfort she brought to family and friends. Her warm smile, caring nature, and generous spirit left a lasting impact on everyone she met. She possessed an unconditional love for others and a servant’s heart that reflected her deep Christian faith.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her beloved son, James “Jimmie” Wolfe; her sister, Evelyn Messmer; her brothers, Leon Stouten and Kenneth Stouten; and her parents, John and Mariam Stouten.
She is survived by her loving sister, Norma Jean Bell; her brother, Harold Bruce Stouten; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Though her family grieves her passing, they find peace and comfort in knowing that Kathleen’s earthly journey has ended and that she now rests in the eternal presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, reunited with those who have gone before her.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Blue Grass Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to attend and join in honoring Kathleen’s life and legacy. Following the service, family and friends will gather together for a celebration of Kathleen’s life, remembering her unconditional love for others, her steadfast Christian walk and testimony, and her enduring love for Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior.
As we celebrate Kathleen’s life, we remember a woman whose faith never wavered, whose love knew no bounds, and whose heart was always open to those in need. Her legacy of compassion, grace, and devotion to Christ will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
Kathleen will be deeply missed, forever loved, and lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
