Karoline “KK” Kahre, 57, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on September 5, 2026, in Evansville following her second courageous battle with cancer. She was born March 17, 1969, to the late Gerhard and Karin Klagge.
Karoline’s greatest joy in life came after 2 days of labor when she had her son Logan Kahre whom she loved with all her heart. In addition to loving him, she liked him and they enjoyed spending their time together. To honor their proud German heritage they would attend Volksfest every year and as proud Americans they enjoyed watching the fireworks downtown together.
Karoline wasn’t just the life of the party, she was the party. Karoline loved riding Harleys, enjoying a good drink, and laughing. You would hardly ever catch her without a smile. If she wasn’t smiling, you could still see one of her yellow smiley faces somewhere in her vicinity. She could turn an ordinary day into an adventure and never needed much of an excuse to celebrate life and photographing all of life’s moments. Often saying ‘pictures are everything’ what once seemed like endless photographs is now a precious gift to those who loved her. She loved Pensacola and the memories she made there, and it will hold a special place in her story as the final resting place for her ashes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerhard and Karin Klagge, and her nephew, Jeremiah Klagge.
Karoline is survived by her beloved son, Logan Kahre; Logan’s father and her former husband, William “Bill” Kahre; her partner, Chris Williams; her stepdaughter, Ashley Banister; Chris’s children, Travis and Kendra, and their children Tanner, Braxton, and Maysin; her siblings, Christine Klagge and Michael Klagge; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who loved her dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be 5:00 PM Monday, Sept 21, 2026, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, officiated by Pastor Kirk Horstmeyer. Friends may visit Monday from 3:00 PM until service time at the church.

KK haven’t seen you in a while but I know how hard you have fought and I know how much you are loved and the last couple years I haven’t been around much but you’ve still been in my heart. my heart goes out to your family because of the tremendous loss, you’re definitely missed I’m glad you’re in the arms of Jesus not suffering. I met Karoline and Bill years ago at my father’s house when she was pregnant with Logan. We seen them quite often at my dad’s, as Bill and my dad shared a love of animals and were friends. After Logan was born, my son who was the same age played together quite often as young children. We lost touch after their divorce, but ironically Logan and my son ended up working together at Schnucks and I got to see him again and catch up while visiting my son one day at work. I have wonderful and fond memories of Karoline, Logan and Bill. My deepest condolences to Logan, Bill, Chris and all those who loved and cared about her. She will live on in the memories and hearts of those whose lives she touched.
