
John F. McBride, 77, of Evansville, IN passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025. He was born on April 17, 1948, in Tiptonville, Tennessee, to the late Bill and Maudie McBride.
John proudly served his country in the United States Navy as an Aviation Maintenance Administrationman Third Class (AZ3) during the Vietnam War. His service reflected his strong work ethic, sense of duty, and love of country—values that carried through his entire life.
Family was at the center of John’s world. He is survived by his children, Wesley McBride and Katherine Johns (McBride); his grandchildren, Jorden McBride, Kirsten McBride, and Luke Johns; and his great-grandchildren, Anastasia Clark and Elijah Clark, who were a special joy in his later years. He is also survived by his sisters, Katie Kretzer and Sue Beavers, along with many nieces and nephews who will remember him with love.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Austin McBride, and his sister, Teresa Eller.
John will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his quiet strength, and his unwavering kindness. He leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and resilience that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A service will be held at a later date in Missouri. The family wishes to extend their gratitude for the love, prayers, and support during this time.
