
Jerry Wood, 74, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away on June 19, 2026. He was born on May 14, 1952, in Jasper, Indiana.
Jerry proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He carried the values of service, dedication, and resilience throughout his life.
A devoted family man, Jerry found his greatest joy in spending time with those he loved. He is survived by his children: Chris Wood and his wife, Kari; Derek Wood and his wife, Ann; Jeremy Wood and his wife, Stephanie; and Nathan Wood and his wife, Sara. He was also the proud grandfather of 11 grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judy Wood; his mother, Betty Miley; his father, Jack Miley; his twin brother, Terry Wood; and his grandchild, Caleb Wood.
In his younger years, Jerry enjoyed playing golf and spending time on the course with friends. He also loved playing the guitar, often sitting in the garage strumming familiar tunes and enjoying life’s simple pleasures. His love of music, his sense of humor, and his dedication to family will be remembered by all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jerry’s life on July 19, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Jesus Christ Firm Foundation Church in Petersburg, Indiana. A Celebration of Life service will be held during that time as family and friends gather to honor his memory and share stories of a life well lived. The services will be conducted by his son, Derek Wood.
Jerry will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him and inspiration to all whose lives he touched.
