Jeannie L. Robbins, age 75, of Princeton, Indiana, passed away on December 10, 2025. She was born on April 10, 1950, the daughter of Edison and Jean Wester, both of whom preceded her in death.
Jeannie graduated from Garfield High School in Terre Haute and attended Indiana State University. She devoted much of her life to serving others through volunteer work and community involvement. At Hillside United Methodist Church, Jeannie was deeply committed to the Backpack Ministry, a program focused on providing supplemental food and essentials for children and families in need, helping ensure students have nourishment and care beyond the classroom.
Her passion for service extended across many organizations. Jeannie served as a Gray Lady at Brumfield School, was a Girl Scout troop leader at all five levels, chaired area activities for Girl Scouting in Gibson County, and served as Cookie Chairman and Day Camp Director for many years. She also served as a Den Mother for Boy Scouts and volunteered as a hospice volunteer with VNA.
Jeannie was a long-time member of the Golden Fleece Chapter No. 176, Order of the Eastern Star, a fraternal organization dedicated to charity, truth, and loving kindness that encourages community service and fellowship among its members. She also supported Rainbow Girls Assembly #98 of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, a youth service organization that teaches leadership, confidence, and community service to young women. Within her church community, Jeannie served on committees, prepared meals, and assisted in worship by managing the worship computer.
Jeannie’s life was defined by kindness, generosity, and unwavering dedication to service.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Daniel Robbins; sons Drew (Beth) Robbins and Matt (Tara) Robbins; her daughter Wendi L. (Mark) Tingley; her grandchildren Hannah (Cole) Berry, Sarah Sollars, Skylar (Ashley) Tingley, Connor Tingley, Seth (Megan) Robbins, Jakob Robbins, Paige Leister, Griffin (Shelby) Robbins, and Addison Lucile Robbins; and her great-grandchildren Mason and Jace Leister, Oliver Robbins, Everett Berry, and Cassian Robbins. Jeannie also leaves behind her brother Tom Wester and sister Jill Hannah; she was preceded in death by her sister Judy Joseph (Kenny). She is also remembered with love by seven nephews and four nieces.
A memorial service will be held on December 27, 2025. Visitation will be from 2–4 PM, with a memorial service to follow at 4 PM, all at Hillside United Methodist Church, 828 W. Archer Rd., Princeton, Indiana. Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating Jeannie’s life and legacy. To honor Jeannie’s request for a celebration of her life, her children will be hosting a gathering afterwards at the Princeton Elks Lodge, 302 N. Hart St., and invite all to join.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Hillside United Methodist Church Backpack Ministry or another organization that reflects Jeannie’s lifelong passion for serving children and families in need.

So many fond memories of Jeannie and her family when I was the pastor at Faith UMC. Hard to believe that was 40 years ago. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Hugs to all her family.
I regret I will be unable to attend her funeral as I will be preaching in Jackson, MI the following day.

Dan, Wendy, Drew & Matt, as well as Mark, Beth, Tara and grandkids. Jeannie was 1 of the very BEST! I learned so much from her & never worried that she would finish any task she took on @ Hillside & do it well! I have no doubt that she was met, the minute she left here, by our Lord & heard “Well done, good & faithful servant”. Prayers lifted daily for you all… for complete peace & joyful memories. You KNOW where she is now. You’ll see her again in God’s time.

My condolences to Dan and family. I got to know Jeannie through volunteering to work with youth in Princeton. She had a positive outlook on life and heart for youth. Jeannie was an inspiration to those who knew her and worked with her. I am very glad I had the opportunity to know and work with her. She loved her family and all the youth she worked with. I pray our Lord will give you the comfort, peace and guidance during this time of grief.
