
Jackie R. Junkins, 83, went home to be with the Lord on June 14, 2025. He was born in Vincennes, Indiana on April 13, 1942, to Henley and Dorothy Nixon Junkins.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife Ginger Chambers Junkins whom he was married to for 47 years. Also preceding him in death were his siblings Donnie, Eddie, Carolyn Sue, Linda and Elizabeth.
Jack served in the United State Air Force for 21 years. Through his time in the Air Force, he served with the Department of Defense and the National Security Agency-Central Security Service. Master Sergeant Jack Junkins received many citations, medals and awards during his career. He served in Taiwan, Germany, Italy, Korea, France, Thailand and Vietnam. He will be remembered for his love, loyalty and dedication to his country and to God.
After Jack’s retirement from the United States Air Force in 1981 he then went on to work for Crane Naval Warfare Center. He was also a member of the VFW, American Legion, French Club and Bruceville Rod and Gun Club.
Jack loved playing cards, listening to country music. In his last few years of life, he realized his need for a savior and a church family. He recommitted his life to Christ and was baptized at Mariah Creek Christian Church at the age of 78. He was a member of Mariah Creek Christian Church and the Bicknell Methodist Church.
A military graveside service will be performed at a later date at Mariah Creek Cemetery near Oaktown, Indiana.
