Petersburg, IN – Jacquelyn “Jackie” K. Schwarz (McIlrath), age 76, of Petersburg, Indiana, passed away on September 27, 2026 at Jasper Memorial Hospital in Jasper, Indiana surrounded by her family. Jackie was born on August 25, 1950 in Washington, Indiana to the late Jack and Aline McIlrath.
Jackie grew up in Maryland and graduated from DuVal High School in Lanham, Maryland. After school, she settled down in Laurel, Maryland to raise her son. Jackie held various jobs over the course of her life, from apartment complex manager of Riverview Apartments in Laurel, head cashier of Kay-Bee Toys in Laurel Mall and finally retiring from Wal-Mart in Washington, Indiana after 25 years of dedication. Jackie was a loving daughter, mother and friend to many.
She was preceded in death by her parents and many cherished pets.
She leaves behind her son, Charles Schwarz; Daughter in law, Mari Schwarz as well as her grandson, Demetre Young.

Simple Cremation Evansville is entrusted with her care.
The family would like to thank the staff at Amber Manor in Petersburg, Indiana as well as the doctors and nurses at Jasper Memorial Hospital for their compassion in caring for Jackie in her final days.
