Helai was born in Majuro, Marshall Islands on October 24, 1953. On Sunday February 23, 2025, Helai passed away at Deaconess Hospice Home in Evansville, IN. Helai was a loving and devoted husband to Komju Labaun and father to his children. He enjoyed spending time with family. Helai was kind-spirited and would do his best to help others. He will be dearly missed. Helai is survived by his wife; Komju Labaun, 3 daughters; Wisa Jorbon, Arlynn Labaun, and Floriann Samuel, a son; Rodney Jorbon, grandchildren; Casendra Labaun-Samuel, Gaby Me’hau, Alex Me’hau, Bwein Samuel, Susian Samuel, Calvin Jorban, Jason Jorban, Tomashi Jorban, JD Defan, Isaiah Defan, and JJ Defan, and a host of other extended family and friends.
