We bid farewell to Ginger Sharon Mincey, 71 of Evanston, Indiana. She was born October 16, 1953, in Peoria, Illinois. Ginger was a daughter, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a friend, who departed from this world on January 4, 2025, leaving behind her family and friends and her beloved pet Luna.
Ginger was separated from her siblings and was adopted by her loving adoptive parents Genevieve and Gilbert Ralph of Cambridge, Illinois. At a very young age, Ginger was unaware of her entire biological family, and it wasn’t until many years later as an adult that she reconnected with them.
She attended Fashion Institute of Florida in N. Miami, Florida. She was a Cosmetologist until she retired. Ginger was always ready with her scissors to give free haircuts and hair treatments.
She is survived by her children, Nathan Snell, Brian Snell, Cory Snell, Virginia Potzgo-Fonde, Amanda Potzgo-Wagner, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Although for reasons beyond her control Ginger was estranged from her daughters and their families. She loved them from afar.
Ginger lived a colorful life that she enjoyed punctuating with colorful language. She had many creative skills that kept her busy. She loved to travel. Ginger had a heart of gold, and her beautiful smile will be missed by family and friends alike. Her interment will be a private.
