Franklin (Frank or Fred or JR or Dad) was born January 13, 1962 to Franklin D. McGhee Sr. And Eva Mae (Sutton) McGhee Armstrong in Herald, Illinois.
In his younger years he enjoyed hunting, fishing, spotlighting, drinking a cold one, and hanging out with his friends and family.
Frank helped his uncle often with his watermelon and cantaloupe farm. He worked in the oil fields, did construction, was a welder/fabricator, and later in life, after he became disabled, did some manufacturing, unsuccessfully. He knew a little bit about a lot of things.
He was a kind-hearted, generous person. Even if he didn’t like you, he would help you if he could.
Frank’s body left us on March 16, 2026, and but many memories of him will continue to live on through those of us still here.
He was preceded in death by his dad and his nephew Jason.
Frank is survived by his mom Eva, sisters LeAnne (Jerry) and Iva (Derrick). His three amazing children- Terra, Brandy (Dan), and Ryan (Heather). His awesome grandbabies- Justice, Tristan, Anthony, Braden, Caleb, Dante, Morgan, Hadlee, and Ryder and six almost seven great- grandbabies. He also has many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Frank’s remains will rest in the cemetery in Concord, Illinois, and a celebration of life will be held in Frank’s honor where we will share a meal together and remember good times in the coming month.
In lieu of donations, let’s take a page out of Frank’s book and help someone who needs it. Extend grace.

LeaAnn,
So so sorry for your loss. What a great idea to do something nice for someone else in his memory. I think when we go out to eat I will buy someone’s meal. I used to do that once a month when I was working in honor of my sister. Hugs and prayers for all of you!
Love
