Eric William Cox passed away July 31, 2026, surrounded by family and friends.
Eric was a 1979 graduate of North High School. His career path led him to local automobile dealerships, most recently Champion Ford in Owensboro where he was treated as family by the Brubakers. He was an avid runner having run in over 8 marathons including Chicago, New York, and Boston. He also enjoyed fly fishing, golf, and soccer.
Eric was an accomplished soccer referee and in his 30 plus years he officiated in high level and collegiate matches. His most lasting legacy comes in the way of his educating and mentoring new referees. Countless referees owe their officiating journey to Eric.
