
Edward J. Montpetit, age 83, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Saturday August 2, 2025 surrounded by loved ones.
Born on August 27, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan, Edward proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. He dedicated 23 years of honorable service, including 2 tours to Vietnam and 1 tour to Korea. Edward was recognized with over 14 Medals during his service including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Bronze Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and multiple Good Conduct Medals. Edward retired from the Army as a Sergeant First Class.
Edward was a beloved husband, father, grandparent, and friend. He will be deeply missed by loved ones and friends. Edward is survived by his Wife: Gertraud (Trudy); Children: Tami, Mark, and Jessica; Grandchildren: Brittney, Kaylen, Adam, Amber, Nick, Hannah, Grace, and Branden; (7) Great Grandchildren, and a wide circle of family and friends.
A memorial celebration with military honors will be held on a later date.
Edward’s courage, loyalty, and love for others left a lasting mark on all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
