Dixie Lynn Jones, 58, passed away peacefully at her home in Rockport, Indiana, on February 14, 2026. She was surrounded by the family and close friends who were the absolute center of her world. Born on October 19, 1967, Dixie lived a life defined by creativity, honesty, and an unmistakable spirit that was truly one in a million.
Dixie’s “North Star” was her family. She was the heart of every gathering, but she truly shined in her role as a grandmother. Her “grand babies” were her greatest joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Known for her creative flair, Dixie never missed an opportunity to go all out for the holidays, turning every celebration into a beautifully decorated and memorable event for her children and grandchildren.
To know Dixie was to know exactly where you stood. While she was incredibly sweet and kind, she was also known for her refreshing honesty—she was never afraid to “tell you how it is.” That rare combination of a big heart and a straight-shooting personality made her a steady, unforgettable force in the lives of those she loved.
Dixie is survived by her husband, Ricky L. Jones; her three children and their families: Rodger Jr. (Felicia Green) and their children Skylynn, Brently, Thayden, and River Green; Jody (Heath Harper) and their children Braylee, Paisley, and MyKenzie Harper; and Marylou (Tyler Albrecht) and their children Keaton, Colton, Madilynn, and Kinlyn Albrecht. She is also survived by her brother, Clayton Allen (Sherrie Shirel); her best friend, Angie Goodwin; and her best friend and soul mate, Rodger Green Sr. In addition to her children, Dixie is survived by her step-children and numerous grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date once arrangements have been finalized. The family kindly requests that guests bring a favorite photo of Dixie to share.
