Heaven gained a truly beautiful soul on August 14, 2026, when David R. Will, beloved husband, father, Pap, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 77.
David was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Illa (Suzy) Will, with whom he shared 54 wonderful years of marriage. Their life together was filled with love, memories, and a bond that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew them.
David was a loving father to his daughter, Dava Meadows (Mathew Meadows). He was a proud Pap to his grandchildren: Lilly Reader (Daylen Reader), Jasmine Meadows (Hunter Strange), and Gracie Meadows (Tristen Boyd). He was also a great grandfather to Oakley Boyd, affectionately known as Tookie, who was the love of his life and brought him immeasurable joy.
David also had a special four-legged family member, his beloved fur baby, Bear, who held a cherished place in his heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Mary Jane Will, and by his siblings Wayne Will, Judy Kempf (Tony), and Mike Will (Michele).
He leaves behind his loving siblings Jen Haire (Randy), Ron Will (Debbie Tyring), and Bryon Will (Donna), along with his daughter, grandchildren, and great grandchild, extended family, and countless friends who will forever cherish the memories they made with him.
David was a beloved bartender at Haub Steakhouse, where he dedicated 34 years of his life serving others. Throughout those years, he made countless friends and touched the lives of so many with his warm personality, kindness, and familiar smile.
David’s greatest legacy will not be measured by possessions or accomplishments, but by the love he gave to his family. He was deeply loved, and his presence brought warmth, laughter, and countless memories to those around him. His family will carry his love with them forever and will miss him more than words can express.
Though his time on earth has come to an end, David’s love will live on through his family, especially the generations he was so proud to call his own.
A Celebration of Life for David R. Will will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at the Haubstadt Community Center, beginning at1:00 p.m.
