David Eugene Woods
1977– 2025
Peacefully and surrounded by his family, David Eugene Woods entered eternal rest and was reunited with his father July 26th, 2025 at the age of 48 years.
David will be deeply missed by his Wife of 20 years, Rebecca (Becky) Woods, and their two Sons, Jackson and Camren Woods. He is also survived by his Mother, Tammy Jalilpour (Mehran); his Sister, Heather Brown (Grant); Step-Sisters, Maria and Sarah Jalilpour; Nephew, Landon Brown; Grandmother, Betty Woods; Grandfather, Clay Edwards; Aunts, Sandy Shores, Debbie O’Neal, Debbie Murray (Gene) and Terri Brown; Uncles, Don O’Neal (Chris), Danny Edwards (Courtney), and Terry Edwards. His love and memory will live on through countless relatives and friends across Indiana, Kentucky, and Florida.
He was preceded in death by his Father, David Lee Woods; Grandfather, Larry Eugene Woods; Grandmothers, Helen Adams and Sylvia Edwards; Uncles, Rick Woods and Gerry Shores; and Cousin, Kenny Brown.
You could always count on David to have a sarcastic, quick witted, intellectual response in record time.
David loved spending time with his family playing games, endless rounds of poker, going bowling, watching movies, playing pranks, inappropriate jokes and tickle fights. He especially loved the comfort of knowing his whole family was home, together, under one roof and safe.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation made to the David Woods Memorial Fund at Fifth Third Bank for the continued support of his family in his absence.
A deep gratitude is expressed for the exceptional care provided by the medical team at Deaconess Gateway Hospital, ICU Tower A, who tirelessly showed effort and unwavering dedication to David from A412 while also providing comfort and peace to his family. The compassion and care that this team showed is unmatched, and we are forever grateful.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Evansville Grace Church of the Nazarene at 5029 Broadway Ave. Evansville, Indiana on Saturday, August 9th with visitation at 2:00 pm and Celebration of Life at 2:30 pm with Grant Brown Officiating.
