Darrel Wayne Melton, 71, of Henderson, Ky passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, after suffering a prolonged illness.
He was preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Ruth Melton of Henderson, a brother, Joe Melton of Arkansas, a sister Virginia Melton Roberts of Robards Ky.
He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years Lori Melton of Henderson, Ky and daughters Lacey Melton of Evansville, In, Nicole (Cody) Barnhill of Florida and Amanda Dawson, and 2 grandsons Connor Dawson and Gaige. Brothers James Ray (Barbara) Melton of Henderson, Ky, David (Jennifer) Melton of Henderson, Ky, sisters Barbara Melton Ronne of Greensburg, Ky, Gale (Gary) Grossman and Nancy Melton of Henderson, Ky, many nieces and nephews, also his friend and honorary brother Steve “Ducky” (Sally) Duckworth of Henderson, Ky.
Darrel loved his family dearly and so enjoyed family gatherings. He was a big UK Fan and enjoyed traveling the USA. He served in the Navy and retired from the Boilermakers Local #374 .
