
Danita Sue Evitts (Mammie Dee) 65 of Tell City, In passed away in her home on early Monday, January 20, 202,5 after a two-year battle with cancer.
She was born on November 3, 1959, to Dewey Hobson Clark, Jr. and Oleda Mae Clark, of McLean County, Ky. She graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan College, with an associates in nursing and was a nurse for 33 years. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She enjoyed playing out in the garden and her flowers, sitting and watching the hummingbirds and cardinals, fishing and spending time with her grandbabies. She also had a passion for nursing and caregiving.
Danita was preceded in death by her husband Tim Evitts, son Roger Dale Benningfield, Jr; grandson Roger Dale Benningfield III, mother Oleda Mae Clark, and sister Judith Ann Burden.
She is survived by her daughters Barbara Jean Carver and April Marie Benningfield; grandsons Gavin Brent Carver and Trevor Dale Benningfield; granddaughters Cheyenne Marie Doades and Lita Mae Doades; father Dewey Hobson Clark, Jr.; and siblings Doris Alexander, Shelia Clark, Paula Swihart, Cathy Jarvis, Dewey Clark III, and Tony Schwartz and their families.
We will be having a Celebration of Life on February 8, 2025, at her father’s home, located at 1498 Eubanks Road, Calhoun, Ky 42327 beginning at 11:00 AM with the burial being at 2:00 PM at Memorial Garden Cemetery in Powderly, Ky.
