Daniel Paul Lott, born September 30, 1952, in Orangeburg, South Carolina, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. He was the son of Paul Givens Lott and Betty Lott Gregory.
Throughout his life, Daniel built a career, served his community, and found joy in the people and things he loved most. He previously worked for Disney and proudly served as a volunteer firefighter in Orlando, Florida. He later retired from Green Coal Company, where he worked as a service engineer.
Above all, Daniel cherished time spent with his family. He took great pride in his grandsons, Sebastian “Bash” and Griffin, and especially loved celebrating Bash’s baseball accomplishments. He was a devoted University of Kentucky basketball and baseball fan.
Daniel also found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. He loved watching nature from around his home, especially feeding the birds and squirrels that visited. His home was also filled with the unique companionship of his beloved pets, Garcia, his iguana, and Roy Lee, his treasured African Grey parrot, who held a special place in his heart.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Bruce Lott and Glenn Lott.
He is survived by his son, Eric Paul Lott, and daughter-in-law, Magan Lott, of Utica, Kentucky; his cherished grandsons, Sebastian “Bash” and Griffin Lott; his sister, Linda Bosley, and brother-in-law, Gil Bosley, of Naples, Florida; and several nieces and a nephew.
Daniel will be remembered for the life he lived, the service he gave to others, his love for his family, and the everyday moments that brought him happiness. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him and in the many stories and memories they will continue to share.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family and all who knew him.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Encompass Rehab and Heart to Heart Hospice for their compassion and kindness in taking care of Daniel. Any donations in memory of Daniel can be made to Heart to Heart Hospice of Evansville.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
