Daniel Kirves, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2025, at 6:55 a.m. He was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
Born and raised in Evansville, Indiana, Daniel spent most of his career at Whirlpool, with additional years at Ted Fink’s and Risley’s during times of layoff. A man of principle and routine, he was known for his dry humor, strong work ethic, and unwavering commitment to his family.
Daniel had a wide range of interests. He was an avid bowler, a familiar face at the local gym, and a devoted collector of thriller and horror movies—from paranormal documentaries to classic chillers. He took pride in his orange Mustang, which he maintained with great care. He also enjoyed target shooting and was a longtime member of a local gun club in Newburgh.
Daniel loved dogs throughout his life, sharing his home over the years with Shadow, Spirit, Baxter, Prince, Killer, and Inky. But more than anything, he loved his family. He cherished vacations, family dinners, and filming endless hours of home videos to preserve memories for future generations.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Sue Kirves; his children, Daniel Kirves II (Zhen Zhang) and Crystal Kirves Ross; his grandchildren, Morgan Ross, Emily Ross, and Alex Kirves; and his great-grandson, Emanuel Ross Delgado. He is also survived by his father, Floyd “Junior” Kirves; his brother, Bruce Kirves; and his sister, Lisa Kirves.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Kirves, and his grandparents, Reverend Floyd Kirves and Leona Kirves (née Nation).
Daniel’s life was marked by love, loyalty, and quiet strength. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, strong values, and countless memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
A celebration of his life was held on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at the Drury Inn & Suites in Evansville, Indiana. All who knew and loved him joined in remembering and honoring his life.
