
Charles Steve Cohoon, 76, of New Harmony IN passed away January 23rd 2025 at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was born May 9th 1948 in Evansville IN to late Charles and Patricia Cohoon.
Charles graduated in 1966 from Castle High School. He owed Steve’s Electric and worked along side his daughter Michele for many years. Charles eventually retired and in his retirement he enjoyed watching birds, the occasional western, and spending time with his family. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan and loved his dog Baby.
The family would also like to thank Compassus, New Harmony Fire, Black Township Fire and Rescue, and Posey EMS.
He was proceeded in death by his parents and brother Darrell Cohoon.
Charles is survived by his wife Betty Cohoon, daughters Stephanie Searcy (Dennis), Michele Cohoon, Grandchildren Aaron Searcy (Christina), Brooke Cohoon, Ellen Gonzalez (Brock), Emily Wolf (Seth), Brant Browning (Kassie), and 6 Great Grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held February 8th 2025 from 1pm-4pm at 611 West 8th Street in Mount Vernon IN.

Steve will always be remembered as a Kind loving Family Man of few words. His actions spoke for him. When I saw Steve at Family reunions I would say Hi to him and he would return the Hi. I was fine with that he didn’t need to say much to know he liked you. Steve you worked hard to care for your Family. Well Done Sir…

Betty so sorry to hear about Steve. It was a shock, didn’t know if he had any illness or not. So hope you will be Ok he will keep an eye on you from a better place.
