Cathy Schirr

Cathy Schirr started her new adventure joining those who preceded her; father Edward Sutton, grandmother Mary Mauck, and niece Julie Sander on Thursday, June 11th, at 3:33pm. She battled hard against The Big C, but the contraction of pneumonia took her months too early. Mary Catherine Schirr was born to Edward and Patricia Blackburn Sutton on July 4, 1954, in Evansville, Indiana, Cathy was a wonderful educator, friend and more devoted to family than the thickness of blood. She will be missed by many for various reasons. If you were lucky enough to meet her, please give her a moment of your time, to think of her and remember a moment you might have shared. She dedicated most of her career to teaching at Winslow Elementary School, where she inspired and nurtured all of her students.

She was a devoted mother to her son, Ted, and her daughter, Alison Pinkston and son-in-law Robert. Nothing brought her more happiness than spending time with her beloved grandchildren; Landon Schirr, Katherine Pinkston, Chloe Pinkston, and Liliana Schirr, who were the light of her life.

She is survived by her mother, Patricia Sutton; her children, Ted Schirr, and Alison Pinkston and her husband, Robert Pinkston; and her grandchildren, Landon Schirr and his wife Devyne, Liliana Schirr, Katherine Pinkston, and Chloe Pinkston. She is also survived by her sisters, Connie John and husband Pat, Susan Baker and husband Daniel and Jane Sander and husband Mike, along with a loving extended family of uncle, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
