
Cathy Hamilton, 78, of Newburgh, Indiana, passed away peacefully at 10:38 p.m. on Friday, May 2, 2025, at Heart to Heart Hospice in Evansville.
Born on April 20, 1947, in Wabash, Indiana, Cathy was the daughter of Charles and Bernice Cox. A graduate of Wabash High School, she built a fulfilling career as a Customer Service Manager with Wesco International, where her dedication and warmth left a lasting impression on colleagues until her retirement in 2009.
On April 22, 1967, Cathy married Thomas Hamilton at South Side EUB Church, embarking on a lifetime of devotion as a strong yet profoundly loving mother. Through life’s many hardships, she showed unwavering resilience, her peaceful spirit shining as a light for those around her. She attended Grace Life Bible Church in Evansville, where she found joy and comfort in worshipping with her family.
Cathy’s heart was deeply connected to the beauty of nature. She had a special fondness for tending to her plants, with orchids being her favorite flower. She delighted in watching birds, especially hummingbirds, and capturing the world’s beauty through her photography. A lifelong animal lover, Cathy held a very fond affection for cats, who brought her endless comfort and companionship.
She is survived by her sons, Anthony Hamilton of Pantego, Texas, and Nathan Hamilton of Newburgh, Indiana, and her six precious grandchildren, Derek (Kassidy) Hamilton and their daughter Kennedy of Grand Junction, Colorado; Sarah Hamilton of Granbury, Texas; Grant, Emma, Eva, and Katie Hamilton of Evansville, Indiana.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the coming months, where friends and family will gather to honor Cathy’s gentle strength, unwavering love, and the serene joy she shared with all who knew her.
