Brenda was born in Evansville May 9, 1958, to John R. White, Jr. and Georgia (Bauman) White.
Brenda retired from Bristol Myers, where she had worked for over 30 years as an administrative assistant.
She enjoyed vacationing in the Southwest and collecting Navajo pottery. Brenda developed a passion for helping homeless dogs and wanted to find a way to do more for them.
In 2004 Brenda started a non-profit dog rescue group in her home county called PC Pound Puppies (Posey County Pound Puppies). Over the years this organization has grown to include many volunteers, foster families, supporters, and donors. The dedicated volunteers have saved over 2000 dogs and work tirelessly to provide shelter and medical care to them before their forever home is found.
Brenda is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Moe; daughter Angie (Scott); son Brandon (Brandi); grandchildren Logan, Morgan, and a second grandson on the way; sister Nancy (Elwood); brother Dick (Nancy); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Georgia White, and her parents-in-law Wayne and Wilma Vanderver.
Brenda was a very selfless person, always helping others and devoting her time to saving helpless and abandoned dogs. She also gave in death as she gave in life through the gift of organ and tissue donation.
In lieu of flowers or other gifts to the family, a donation can be made in Brenda’s name to the Newlife Rescue & Adoption building fund. This is the merging of PC Pound Puppies and Posey Humane Society that Brenda was helping to plan when she passed away.
