
Bonnie Carol (Pipkins) Mason, 86, peacefully passed away on June 7, 2026, at her home in Oaktown, Indiana. She was born on February 9, 1940 in Forrest City, Arkansas, and spent more than 50 years of her life in New Harmony, Indiana before later moving to Oaktown.
Bonnie devoted her life to her family, who were always her greatest priority. Her pride and joy were the many cherished moments she shared with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose love and laughter kept her young at heart and active throughout her life.
She was employed in bookkeeping at IGA in Mount Vernon for many years, where she was known for her dedication and hard work. Outside of work, Bonnie enjoyed music, golf, art, tending to her flower beds, and feeding hummingbirds. She had a special love for her cats and dogs, which brought her great joy over the years.
Bonnie is survived by her children, Pam “Mitzi” Mason (Bob Mills), Kenneth “Kenny” Jr. (Becky) Mason, and Dwayne (Laurie) Mason; her sister, Dorothy Pipkins.
She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Briana (Michael) Alvarez, Amber (Frank) Yazvac, Crystal (Josh) Harris, Ryan Mason, and Kenny Wayne Mason III.
In addition, she leaves behind 19 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory and her longtime family friend and devoted caregiver, Paula Nelson.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett C. and Mary Melissa (Turney) Pipkins; her husband of more than 50 years, Kenneth Mason Sr.; her son, Stephen Mason; her granddaughter, Savannah Mason; her brother, Emmett Pipkins.
Bonnie touched countless lives through the years with her kindness, love, and devotion to those around her. Though she will be deeply missed, the memories she created and the lasting impact she made on so many will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A celebration of Bonnie’s life will be held at a later date.
