Billy Joe Bishop passed away March 18, 2026 after losing his battle with cancer just three days
short of his 66th birthday.
To family he was known as Joe, to friends he was Bill.
Bill was married to his childhood sweetheart, Patsy, for more than 47 years. They have two
sons, Michael and William. They have six grandchildren, Chase, Chance, Gina, Farrah, Rachel
and Gage. He is also survived by three sisters, Linda Faith, Jenny Westerfield and Debbie
Denton and one brother Jerry Bishop along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great
nephews.
His life was filled with memories of family and friends always around doing things. Bill was an
avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He loved to tell stories about his adventures and
they were always “entertaining”. In his spare time he liked reading and doing crossword
puzzles and of course playing lottery scratch offs. Bill was also a good cook and enjoyed
sharing what he cooked with others.
He had various jobs including being a cook, butcher, welder, fabricator and safety team
manager to list a few.
The family moved away for a few years to experience life in Colorado which they enjoyed.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents William E Bishop, Lois (Baxter), sister’s Teresa Boyer
and Rebecca Montgomery.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
