
Vaye Doyne (Boyll) Moreland, of Evansville IN, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025, at age 92. She was born February 19, 1933 in Pimento IN. She was a graduate of Union Hospital School of Nursing in Terre Haute and attended Indiana State University.
In her lifetime, Doyne was the epitome of philanthropy and altruism. In her nursing career in Evansville she helped organize the United Ostomy Association, Diabetes Association, Kidney Foundation and Ohio Valley Hospice. She served on the Professional Advisory Committee of the Visiting Nurse Association and was a member of the Board of Directors of Meals on Wheels. She belonged to the Indiana Association of Quality Assurance Professionals and served as President for two years. She has been a member of Altrusa International of Evansville since 1975 and spent many hours in Community Service.
She was the heart and soul of her family and loved spending time with her family and friends. She spent her free time sculpting, painting, had a love for flowers and bird watching among the numerous hikes she took in state and national parks. She had an adventurous love for the skies by sky diving, and taking helicopter and hot air balloon rides. Last but not least, she always had a grand love of CHOCOLATE! Everyone that knew Doyne loved her! She always expressed gratitude for her long life, family that loved her and wonderful travel adventures.
Doyne is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Robert Moreland. She was preceded in death by son, Bruce Moreland (Beth), and survived by son Pembroke Moreland, and daughter Gwen Moreland Cook; her grandchildren, Robert Moreland (Dru), Tyler Cook (MaryKate), and Lindsay Moreland Head (Nate); and took great joy in her great grandchildren, Clay Cook, Claire Cook, Graham Moreland, and Kamryn Head.
No funeral or memorial services are planned. Cremation is arranged by Simple Cremation of Evansville.

Doyne was a true Matriach of her family. I met her at 18 years old though my college roommate Gwen. Many overnights at their home, wonderful cooked meals (coq au vin) hiking and rv camping adventures in Natural Bridge park..with clogging. She welcomed me into their family. Prayers for Bob, Gwen, Pembroke, Beth. Tyler Robert and Lindsey. I know Bruce was up in Heaven welcoming his Mom…Love you all..RIP Doyne

Doyne was such a nice and friendly person. I enjoyed my time with her in Altrusa. She was always ready and enthusiastic to get involved with our projects. My sympathy is extended to Bob and her family.
