Deborah “Debbie” Lynn Nelson passed unexpectedly on the morning of October 13, 2026, at the age of 62, leaving behind her older brother, Tony Nelson; his wife, Sarah Nelson; and their three children: Todd (Catherine), Drew (Molly), and Tess (Parker) Nelson.
Shortchanged are Debbie’s grand-nieces (Vivian, Collins) and grand-nephews (Lorne and twins-to-be), whom she’ll surely continue to dote on from far up above, which will be a relief to her ears.
Debbie lived her life honestly, independently, and with fierce loyalty to those she loved most. If you made a mistake, she would tell you. If you offered up an idea, chances are she already had two of her own. And if you were family, she would tolerate the fussing, yelling, and high-pitched squeals to be in the room, to be part of the conversations, and to have the family together. Of course, said tolerance was reserved for relations.
Unlike her carefully crafted scavenger hunts, Debbie’s heart-to-hearts were never filled with subtle clues. They were direct and to the point. She knew life was short and word count mattered.
She believed in working smarter, not harder— a philosophy she carried into both life and business. Working alongside her brother at Nelson Pipe and Supply Inc. (NPSI), Debbie was the one behind the computer, keeping the invoices, and everyone else, in order.
She will be sorely missed by her family and those close to her.
