
Louis A. Burch, a beloved resident of Richland City, Indiana, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2026, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital after a long battle with health issues. Born on July 7, 1950. Louie, as he was affectionately known, lived a life full of love, music, and devotion to family and faith.
Louie was the cherished son of Paul and Alice Burch, who predeceased him, alongside his beloved companion Peggy Horn, his son Corey Burch, his six brothers Harlan, Harold, Walter, William, James, Michael, and his sister Mary (Molly) McAlister. Despite the losses he faced, Louie remained a pillar of strength and love for his surviving family members, including his children Stanley Burch, Tina Crowe and her husband Dave, LouAnna Burch, and Sheri Horn. He was also a proud grandfather to Dylan, Drew, Tyler, Corey Jr., and Tabytha Horn, as well as a doting great-grandfather to six wonderful great-grandchildren.
Louie’s life was a testament to the power of love, resilience, and community. His deep connection with nature was evident in his passion for gardening, where he cultivated not just plants, but a sense of peace and beauty. His love for music was expressed through the gentle strumming of his guitar, a soothing soundtrack to the many cherished family gatherings he held dear. Above all, Louie’s love for God and his church family was a guiding light in his life, providing him with strength and serenity during difficult times.
As we remember Louie, it is his kindness, warmth, and unwavering faith that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. His legacy is one of love and dedication, qualities that he imparted to this family and friends, who will carry his memory forward with grace and gratitude.
