It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert “Bobby” Edward Rumley, Jr., who passed away on September 26, 2026.
Bobby was born on November 29, 1973, in Owensboro, Kentucky, to Roberta (Lindsey) Pflug and Robert Rumley.
A diesel mechanic by trade, Bobby had a gift for fixing things. If something wasn’t working, he was often the person who could figure out why. He wasn’t afraid of hard work, dirty hands, or a challenge.
Bobby loved spending time with family and friends. He never met a conversation he couldn’t stretch into hours, especially if it involved a good debate. He was passionate, opinionated, and always willing to share a story, a laugh, or his perspective.
He was a devoted Kansas City Chiefs fan long before their championship years and remained loyal through every season. He also enjoyed cheering for the St. Louis Cardinals.
Life was not always easy for Bobby, and his path included struggles and imperfect chapters. But those who knew him best knew his love for his family, his loyalty to his friends, and the joy he found in simply being together. He will be remembered not for a list of accomplishments, but for the time he shared, the conversations he started, the things he fixed, and the memories he leaves behind.
Bobby is survived by his beloved children, Erica Rumley and Ryan Rumley of Boonville; his mother, Roberta Pflug of Evansville; his brother, James “JJ” Pflug of Evansville; his sister, Meghan Miller (Clayton) of Gray Summit, Missouri; his nephew, Hudson; his stepmother, Debbie Rumley; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him. As well as his beloved dog Larry.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Rumley; his stepfather, James Pflug; and his grandparents, Robert Lindsey, Lois Lindsey, Cloradean Barrantine, and Fred Rumley.
Though his journey was not always an easy one, Bobby’s life touched many people in ways both big and small. May he rest peacefully and may those who loved him find comfort in the stories, laughter, and memories that will keep his spirit alive.
