Karen Sue Skaggs, 66, of Henderson, Kentucky passed away Monday, July 20, 2026, at 7:34 pm under the care of St. Anthony Hospice. She was born on February 11, 1960, to the late Sam (Dude) and Charlotte Cates. Karen was a retired school bus driver.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Tanya Montana Skaggs; and brother Kenny Gregory.
Karen is survived by her daughter Johanna (Brandon) McClain of Shelbyville, IN; and sons Sam (Amy) Skaggs of Henderson, KY and Chris Skaggs of Louisville, KY; grandchildren Alyssa Robinson, Alex McClain, Tanya McClain, McKenzie Skaggs, Wyatt Skaggs, William Skaggs, and Cora McClain; and her caregiver Margaret Hargove.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, July 31, 2026m from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Niagara United Methodist Church, 15866 KY-136, Henderson, KY 42420.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Anthony Hospice or Niagara United Methodist Church.
