April Dawn Chase, 48, passed away on May 7, 2026. Born on April 17, 1978, April lived life with unmatched energy, a fiery spirit, and a laugh that could fill any room. With her unmistakable red hair and larger-than-life personality, she was someone who people naturally gravitated toward. She loved deeply, laughed loudly, and never believed life should be taken too seriously.
April was lively, outgoing, and known for being the life of the party. She had a gift for making people feel welcome and creating memories full of laughter, music, stories, and fun. Whether among family or friends, she brought silly faces, humor, and honesty everywhere she went. Her bold personality and free spirit will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Caryl Chase-Reynolds, and her grandmother, Helen Geary, who raised her.
April is survived by her children, Jake Chase, Jesse Ruiz, and Joseph Ashby; her grandson, Jasper Chase; her sister, Sara Hess; her brothers, Ryan and Richard Kneir; her aunt, Sharon Hagenseiker; her uncles, Allen, Scott and Rex Chase and John Avery; and Bobby Avery-Kimball
and Denise Floyd, the adopted sisters she was raised alongside and shared a lifelong bond with as one of the “three little girls.”
Though her time here was far too short, April lived fully and unapologetically. Our “Grape Ape” will never be forgotten.
April will be laid to rest next to her mother and grandmother at a private family ceremony at Bethabara Church Cemetery in Folsomville.
