
Robert Leonard Maynard (age 79) of Newburgh passed away at Heart-to-Heart Inpatient Hospice on May 19, 2026. He was born Dec.18,1946 to the late Robert C. and Ruth (Cornwall) Maynard. He was one of four children.
Bob graduated from Castle HS in 1965 and signed a four-year enlistment in the Navy. (1965-1969).
Bob and Judy (Tuley) married in 1968, having first met at Pfafflin Lake Newburgh where he was a lifeguard. She was the love of his life, and they were married for nearly 58 years.
Bob was employed at Alcoa Warrick Works for 30 years after completion of his Navy enlistment. His career ended in safety compliance at Kentucky Castings, then with Safety Compliance Associates (Tracy Aston, Prés.). He retired in 2009.
Bob enjoyed fishing and camping. He traveled to many National parks when was physically able. He traveled to all except two states and several foreign countries for work and pleasure.
A whole new era opened for Bob when he became a grandfather. His three grandchildren were his greatest joy in life. He loved hearing of their various exploits whenever possible. He fiercely
loved God, family and country.
Bob is survived by his wife Judy, son Jamey (Amanda) and grandchildren Luke Andrew, Jasmyn Jade and Jayda Nicole of Elberfeld, and Rebecca Brown (sister) of Kansas City, MO.
He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Andrew (Andy), his mother, father, and two brothers, Randy and Rusty Maynard.
The family would like to thank Heart to Heart Hospice for their excellent care of Bob and support of the Maynard Family and especially Nurse Jen during his long illness.
A celebration of Bob’s life will take place at Miles Landing in Bluegrass, Elberfeld, Sunday June 21, 2026 from 2-4 pm.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Ronald McDonald Charities or The Leukemia Society of America.
