Walter Henry Weibert, 92, of Evansville, IN., passed away on April 12, 2026. He was born at home to parents, Asa and Rhoda Alice (Kell) Weibert during the great depression and was the youngest of 7 children.
Walter was a proud veteran, having served in the US Army for 4 years with 2 of those years being stationed in Germany. After his service, he began working at Whirlpool for upwards of 40 years with part of that time spent as a foreman. Upon retiring, he began his second career as a landscaper at Bob Walthers where he remained proudly for another 15-20 years. Walter once went at least 15 years without missing a single day of work.
Walter was also a talented artist. He took pleasure in drawing scary monsters and comical sketches, giving them out to coworkers, neighbors, friends and family throughout the years.
Walter loved his wife Marilyn the most, having stayed by her side for 56 years. He also loved his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always welcoming them into his home.
Walter never met a stranger and was a funny, generous person who made everyone feel seen and important. He was forgiving, down to earth and simple, in the best of ways.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn (Plock) Weibert; parents Asa and Rhoda Weibert; siblings Louise Sutton, Dorthy Hite, Mary Harper, Betty (Weibert) Galloway, Robert “Bobby” Weibert and Leona “Johnnie” Weibert.
Walter is survived by his son, David Weibert (Angie); daughter Crystal Weibert; grandchildren Andrew Weibert (Nicole) of Ft. Worth, TX, Casey Stewart (Jenna), Aleczander Stewart, Karen Goodman, Asa Goodman, Bailey Goodman, Elizabeth Smith (Aaron) of Henderson, KY., Benjamin Weibert and Nadia Rodney along with 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Walter will be greatly missed by friends and family.

I loved uncle Walter very much. he was my favorite uncle, we enjoyed just sitting outside and talking about everything. I will miss him dearly. life is just too short.

Uncle Walter was my favorite Uncle. He was funny just like most of the Weiberts. He was always kind. I never heard him raise his voice, although I am sure he did, but not in front of me. He was an awesome artist. Wish I had some of his creations. I was about 9 years old when he married after he got home from Korea. He is missed.

Walt was a treasured employee and friend and part of the family at Walther’s Golf n Fun. He was very knowledgeable and kept all the plants and flowers in beautiful shape, as well as adding fun with his caricatures (which we framed!) He and Marilyn were very special people.
